Addressing violence against immigrant and refugee women is not just about connecting victims or survivors of abuse to resources – it is also about encouraging people who are participating in abusive behaviour to stop and change.
What do we mean by abuse or violence?
You may be on this page because you recognized yourself that you were participating in abusive or violent behaviour. Or, someone you know or trust could have approached you to let you know they were concerned about your behaviour. Your partner or family member could be afraid of you, or told you directly that you were abusive. Whatever the case, it is very important that you think about your behaviour and recognize that you can get help and change.
